A dental surgery in Fareham will join practices around the country by donating some of its proceeds as part of The Oasis Dental Care Charity Day.
On Saturday, February 27, all Oasis Dental Care practices in the UK will donate a percentage of their profit from this day entirely to charity.
Oasis practice, The Wessex Dental Specialist Centre in Fareham, will give a percentage of their takings to Bridge2Aid Foundation and The Rowans Hospice.
They are also running a raffle with all the money raised from it going to the above charities.
Tickets cost £1 and prizes include dental treatments, a meal for two at Bugle Hotel, free entry to Flip Out, five hours of new starter driving lessons or pass plus at Hollybank Driving School plus much more.
Centre Manager Alice Stewart said: ‘We are really excited to be involved in the Oasis Dental Care charity day.
‘We have also chosen The Rowans Hospice as it is a charity close to all of our hearts.
‘We would like to thank all of the businesses who have donated prizes for the raffle so far.’
Lesley Clayton, community fundraiser at The Rowans Hospice, said: ‘We are extremely grateful to Oasis Dental Care for supporting The Rowans Hospice through their fundraising activities and open days.
‘The money raised will help provide vital care and support for people affected by life-limiting illnesses in the area.’
Alison Speak, director of HR at Oasis, added: ‘70 per cent of the world’s population do not have access to a dentist. This is something we take for granted in the UK.
‘Bridge2Aid helps provide training for rural-based health workers in developing countries, giving them the equipment, skills and resources they need to provide emergency dental care.
‘This is a cause close to Oasis’s heart, so we plan to raise as much money as possible to donate to Bridge2Aid and also, to help smaller charities at a local level.’
