LUCKETTS Travel has been chosen to trial the latest hybrid vehicle technology.

Eagle-eyed motorists will see the blue and green coach driving around Hampshire over the next two weeks as drivers test the Irizar i4H.

The vehicle reduces fuel consumption by over 20 per cent, running purely on electricity when driven at low speeds.

The diesel engine kicks in when accelerating or cruising.

Group engineering director Mark Jordan said: ‘We’re incredibly excited to take part in this important trial. The coach industry is working hard to drive down its impact on the environment and hybrid vehicles are the logical next step.’
