Fareham shoppers give generously to help with unknown conditions

Isie Ford was born with several congenital birth defects but has so far exceeded everyone’s expectations and has been the smiling little face of the centre’s campaign since October.

The money will be donated to Syndromes Without A Name, a charity that supports families like Isie’s.

A cheque was recently presented to the organisation with Isie and her mum Krista Ford accepting the donation on behalf of SWAN UK.

The money was raised from the proceeds of a Halloween event held in the centre and by the staff at the shopping centre collecting money during November and December from various events that were held over the festive period, which included the popular Giant Snow Globe.

Centre manager Mike Taylor said: ‘We are incredibly pleased to have been able to support the SWAN charity in raising this money and of course awareness.

‘Our thanks to Isie Ford, our local champion for the charity, along with her mum Krista who were so engaging with our events to help raise the proile of SWAN, along with centre staff.

‘We are also most grateful to the members of the public who gave to the charity most generously.’

There are already plans to try to raise more money for this worthwhile charity through more events during the Easter holidays.

‘We wish the charity well in its continued developments, understanding and creating awareness for Syndromes Without A Name.’

Mrs Ford, from Gosport, said she was pleased to have had the opportunity to promote SWAN UK and talk about the challenges families like hers have to face every day.

She and Isie met other families in similar positions and new members are expected to join SWAN UK soon.
