Ferry could see takeover if firm's bid is successful

NEW owners are looking at taking over the Gosport Ferry.

A bid from a Guernsey-based company is reportedly being considered by shareholders, according to community newspaper The Gosport Globe.

It said that the independent directors of FIH Group plc, which has owned Portsmouth Harbour Ferry Company since 2004, are unanimously recommending a cash offer of 300p per share from Staunton Holdings Limited.

FIH Group and Staunton are not making any statements to ensure they do not break stock market rules.
