Financial expert talks at inquiry inparliament

PERSONAL finance expert Martin Lewis is the latest witness to give evidence in a new inquiry into financial education, chaired by Fareham MP Suella Fernandes.

Mr Lewis, founder of the successful MoneySavingExpert website, appeared at a meeting in parliament to answer questions from MPs on the panel.

The inquiry has been launched by the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Financial Education, a group of MPs from across the political spectrum.

Ms Fernandes said: ‘It was great to hear from Martin, who is passionate about ensuring we have better financial awareness. He had a lot of useful things to say, which will be very helpful to us.

‘I’m very pleased to be leading the investigation into this important topic, and would be very interested to hear from parents and teachers in Fareham about their views of how finances are being taught.’

The aim is to produce a report to send to government ministers by the summer.
