WITH just two weeks until it opens its doors, the cinema at Whiteley is almost ready for its first screening.

Work is still being carried out both on the inside and outside of the building at Whiteley Shopping Centre with the finishing touches expected to be complete by the end of this week.

The nine-screen Cineworld cinema will be opening on November 18 in time for the midnight viewing of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part Two.

Contractors Swindon Interiors have put in all 1,375 seats in the different-sized auditoriums with the screens one of the last sections to be completed.

Martin Floyd, general manager of the new cinema, said: ‘We’re really excited about the opening of Cineworld Whiteley.

‘We have such an exciting line-up of films coming up, like The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part Two and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

‘We look forward to welcoming the community and sharing our passion for film.’
