A CONSTRUCTION firm has announced a series of new lucrative building contracts.

One of the deals secured by Midas Construction Limited include the refurbishment of facilities at the University of Portsmouth and St Andrew’s Court, in St Michael’s Road, Southsea.

Both projects are worth £3.1m in total.

Other building contracts include the £6.5m redevelopment of Portswood House, in Southampton, as well as a new £1m crematorium in Salisbury and a £5m music block at a private school.

Another contract worth £600,000 has been secured for work at Town Quay, Southampton.

Paul Strachan, Midas divisional director, said: ‘We are delighted with these new contracts.

‘They will provide much needed local jobs.

‘They will also be a boost to the local economies through the supply chain.’
