Firm that helps avoid IT disasters gets top honoursÂ

A TECH firm that operates in 74 countries from its Portsmouth base has been given a top royal honour.Â

Loadbalancer.org provides devices that improve the availability of critical IT applications by distributing network traffic across a number of servers. 

Since it started 15 years ago, the company has expanded rapidly and its customers now include internationally renowned companies such as Vodafone, ASOS, NBC, Barclays, Ricoh and Canon.

In 2017, it doubled in size, both in terms of revenue and number of employees.

Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire Nigel Atkinson, the Queen's personal representative, visited the firm's headquarters in Compass House, North Harbour Business Park, last week and presented the firm with a Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade. 

Also in attendance were Deputy Lieutenant Tim Weale and the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Lee Mason.

Mr Atkinson said: '˜I am delighted to present, on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, such a highly prestigious award for outstanding achievement by a UK business. It is recognition of the hard work achieved by all the members of staff.'

Founder and CEO Malcolm Turnbull attributed the firm's success to its hardworking staff.

The Queen's Awards for Enterprise is the highest official UK award for business and was presented to the company in recognition of its rapid growth and soaring international sales.
