Firms consider diesel switch

'˜DIRTY-Diesel' reports are pushing firms to switch to a different type of fleet.

A survey of 1,000 UK firms carried out by RAC Business found 62 per cent of large businesses are considering moving away from diesel.

In the south east, 45 per cent of firms said they will be phasing out their diesel fleets.

The news comes after Taylor Made Computer Solutions, based in Fareham, recently welcomed it’s brand new fleet of electric vehicles.

The survey was carried out in quarter four of 2017 and its results support industry figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) which said diesel figures were hit hard last year, with a year-on year decline of around 17.1 per cent.

Many businesses have been introducing electric fleets successfully, but some firms remain sceptical about their capability.
