MARINE companies are lining up to take part in the first Powerboat and Rib show to take place in Portsmouth next week.

Around a dozen exhibitors snapped up last minute spaces to join in the event at Gunwharf Quays, which is sponsored by Suzuki.

They will be joining Fareham’s Raymarine, Hayling Island-based Piranha RIBs, and a host of other firms at the show.

It will take place from Friday, May 11 until Sunday, May 13 and is free for visitors to attend. More than 80,000 people are expected to attend the Powerboat and RIB Show, which is free to visit for the first time in its new venue this year. The event includes the chance to get out on the water and experience free powerboat rides.

Disability sports ambassador Geoff Holt will be showing off Wetwheels, a powerboat which enables wheelchair users to sail.
