THE newly-launched summer service from Southampton Airport to Dijon in France has had to be extended until October because of its popularity.

The service was only started in June and was due to operate until the end of September.

But it will now remain in service until Friday October 28.

Services depart on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays with fares starting from £75 one way, including taxes.

The airport’s Jan Halliday said: ‘The service between Southampton and Dijon was launched as a brand new route for 2011, and is the first time regular air links have been established between the two regions.

‘We’re thrilled that demand for the route has been so popular, and flights are being extended into the autumn as a result.’

The service will resume next April.
