SOUTH coast business travellers and offshore workers will gain new early morning departures and convenient afternoon and early evening service timings as Eastern Airways introduces them on its year-round services between Southampton International Airport to Leeds Bradford and Aberdeen.

Greater flexibility and further enhanced business-focused timings will be introduced from October 6 by the regional airline.

Leeds Bradford Airport is seen as the gateway to Yorkshire and the vibrant cosmopolitan city of Leeds has strong business links with the south coast, particularly in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, finance, insurance, manufacturing, engineering and construction industries.

Aberdeen is Europe’s oil capital with the buoyant offshore industry.

Kay Ryan, Eastern Airways’ commercial director, said: ‘We constantly evaluate timings across our scheduled network to ensure we offer the best possible services.

‘After careful analysis, we’re introducing new timings to suit business travellers flying to Leeds Bradford
and Aberdeen from Southampton.

‘Customers heading to Leeds Bradford can now arrive in Yorkshire by 8.35am and be back on the south coast after a day’s business by 6pm.

‘Meanwhile, offshore workers and oil industry executives can reach Aberdeen by 9.45am.’

Jan Halliday, Southampton Airport’s director of marketing and communications, said: ‘We welcome the new flight timings to Leeds and Aberdeen by Eastern Airways.

‘These will be ideal for the time-conscious business traveller.’

Fares now start from £79 one way, including taxes and charges.

Eastern Airways has been operating scheduled flights from Southampton for more than 11 years.

The airline runs a network of services across to 17 airports in the UK, Norway and France.
