BUSINESSES can find out how to make savings and efficiencies using Google Apps at a free event this week.

The hands-on session is hosted by the University of Portsmouth and provides an opportunity for businesses to find out more about Google’s cloud-based applications and tools.

The event at the Buckingham Building in Lion Terrace, will be led by Sharif Salah, a Google developer expert and University of Portsmouth’s senior systems engineer on Thursday from 10am.

Sharif Salah is a frequent public speaker at national and international conferences and works with both education and start-ups on making the most of Google technologies.

He said: ‘Google technologies have allowed us to entrust much of the day-to-day management and security of some of our most relied upon IT systems to Google and focus our efforts on core business activities.’

The Super Connected Portsmouth team from Portsmouth City Council will also offer guidance on applying for broadband grants of up to £3,000 to install superfast broadband.
