A DECISIVE strategy to nurture growth is badly needed, the Federation of Small Businesses has said.

It says high inflation, rising utility bills and reduced consumer spending have caused small business confidence to fall to the lowest level in two years.

The FSB also called for the government to be bolder in changes to current employee law to boost employment.

FSB national chairman John Walker said: ‘The government had made some good proposals which will help to boost growth, but it is time for action.’
