A gallery opened in Southsea this week, selling art and gifts from around the world.
Managing director Andrew Holt is the latest retailer to grab a spot in Marmion Road.
Andrew opened Pegasus Gallery at number 87a, stocking one-of-a-kind art, retro and vintage pieces and gifts.
‘Marmion Road is the perfect place for Pegasus Gallery,’ Andrew said.
‘We’re seeing more and more independent and niche shops return to the area.
‘Marmion Road is becoming the place for Portsmouth locals to go when they’re looking for something a little different and I want Pegasus Gallery to be part of that.’
He has joined Kings Ship Tattooing, Cacao, Lucile’s Delicatessen and Paul Murray Investments – all recent new businesses in the road.
In fact, Holt’s sister, Colleen Holt, pipped the retailer to the post, opening her own vegan food store, Simply Wholesome, in Marmion Road earlier this year.
‘I noticed a growing demand for organic and vegan food in Portsmouth, and I wanted to offer a wider choice than you can get in most supermarkets.
‘I knew Marmion Road was the place for Simply Wholesome as it’s always been about independent and quality shops.
‘There’s nowhere like Marmion Road.
‘It will be fantastic having my brother’s gallery just across the street.’
