Gluten-free fair offers up sweet treats and savoury snacks

CAKES, breads and savoury treats were all on offer at a gluten-free food fair to raise awareness of the variety of products available for coeliac sufferers.

Hundreds attended  the food fair at Ferneham Hall in Fareham hosted by the South East Hampshire group of Coeliac UK.

Kate Hedges from the group found out she was allergic to gluten 24 years ago.

She said: '˜It was a very hard time as there was not a lot of information or products back then but now there are so many products online and locally.'

Glutenfree Gourmet, A Basing Bakes, Barkat were just some of the stalls offering gluten free products as well as Laneway Coffee in Lee-on-the-Solent which specialises in gluten and dairy-free food.

Kate said: '˜In supermarkets we usually only have a small section dedicated to gluten-free food so this fair is a good opportunity for coeliac sufferers.'Â
