Gosport MP enjoys tour of local bowling club

GOSPORT MP Caroline Dinenage has officially opened the new bowling season at Gosport Bowling Club.

Ms Dinenage had a tour of the club’s facilities at Anglesey Gardens and met officials, captains and bowlers.

The club has more than 100 members and was founded in 1925. It started off with one green before another was added in 1977.

Speaking after the visit, Ms Dinenage said: ‘This was my third visit to Gosport Bowling Club, it was great to meet the players and officials and have a go at the sport myself.

‘Bowling is good fun – it keeps older players active and healthy long into retirement, but it’s also a sport for young people too.

‘We’re fortunate to have some great facilities in our area and I would encourage people to come down and check out this fantastic club.’

The club is holding an open day for people of all ages on Sunday, April 24, from 2pm to 4pm.
