GRANTS are being offered to entrepreneurs by a council to help boost the local economy.

Havant Borough Council is offering 50 grants of £500 to small businesses in the area.

To qualify for a grant the business must be in the borough, been trading for less than 12 months and be a full-time business.

The council has been providing this funding to local people since 2010 and to date has assisted more than 140 small businesses in the area. David Harris, economic development officer at Havant Borough Council said: ‘This is fantastic opportunity for local entrepreneurs and new business owners to kick-start their businesses with an injection of cash.’
