The plans were previously rejected in 2014 but now Elegance has put in another request to transfer.

Ian McCulloch, the Green Party’s Central Southsea local election candidate, has set up an online petition.

He said: ‘Albert Road is a shining gem in Portsmouth’s crown, independent shops with something for the whole family. Opening a new sexual entertainment venue here is not wanted, not needed, and works against the vibrant community that has established itself here.’

Elegance boss Paul Ojla believes the move would benefit the area.
