Groups to get county council grants

Organisations that help the most vulnerable people across Hampshire will benefit from £231,626 in grants from the county council's adult services department.

The money will go to 13 projects in total, including the mental health charity Andover Mind and the Good Neighbour Support Service, which assists older people to live independently.

Councillor Liz Fairhurst, the council’s executive member for adult social care, said: ‘The voluntary and community sector has an important role to play in helping people maintain their independence. The grants scheme is a key way in which adult services supports the sector to do this.’

In future, new programmes will focus on longer-term funding, beyond the current one-year term.
