Hampshire Boilers has launched its Community First Project, which will see the company donate £50 from every domestic installation and £5 from every service call out to three different charities, which will change every three months.

The current three charities to which donations will be made are Abby’s Heroes, a charity that helps children and young adults with cancer, the Trussell Trust, a charity that provides food banks and works to tackle poverty in the UK and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Charity Foundation’s surviving winter campaign, which helps elderly people throughout winter.

The amount that goes to each charity will be voted on by the firm’s customers and the public through their website and Facebook page.

Steve Simmonds, director of the Eastleigh-based firm, which covers much of Hampshire, said: ‘We have always wanted to help charities, so we said let’s try and help as many as we can.

‘There are so many smaller local charities that people don’t know about so we wanted to help these charities.’

The firm recently provided free gas and heating installations during the 2018 ‘beast from the east’ cold wave to all its customers.

They plan to make the community first project a permanent feature, meaning they will always donate a number of their profits to different charities.
