TWO emergency services will share the same headquarters.

Hampshire police and Hampshire Fire and Rescue are the first agencies nationally to make the move, which will see senior police officers move into the fire service’s Eastleigh base.

The plans are part of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire Simon Hayes’ commitment to more integration and sharing of facilities.

The move will see around 100 senior police officers and support staff based at the new joint headquarters.

Mr Hayes said: ‘Co-locating senior police officers and support staff from Hampshire Constabulary with Hampshire Fire and Rescue is key to the successful delivery of my policing estate strategy.’
