SHOPPERS had to do a double-take when they entered the Boots store in Havant.
They would have been forgiven for thinking they had stepped back in time as staff celebrated the store’s 75th anniversary.
On Tuesday and Wednesday workers dressed up in 1930s outfits to commemorate the opening of the store, in West Street, in 1937.
Manager Anne Green said: ‘We had artefacts from the Boots archive in Nottingham on display, such as advertising posters and packaging used over the years for Boots products and services.
‘Customers also had the opportunity to browse pictures and information depicting the changes over the years of Havant itself, which brought back a lot of memories for many of our customers which we enjoyed hearing about.
‘We have had tremendous feedback from our customers who complimented us on the fantastic atmosphere created by the staff and for letting them step back in time even if just for a moment.’
You can still see the old style scales in the store as well as a pestle and mortar once used for dispensing medicine.
