Photographers Stacey Oliver-Sims and Amie Turner, who co-own Havant-based photography business Fairydust and Wonder, are offering Year 11 pupils and pupils who were due to attend prom this year socially distanced and doorstep photoshoots in their prom outfits, so they don’t feel like they’ve missed out, or like they have spent money on an outfit without being able to wear it.

The pair will be donating £5 from every shoot to NHS Charities Together.

They were inspired by an American trend which also saw photographers get pictures of prom-goers in their outfits, as if they’re ready for the real thing.

29-year-old Stacey said: ‘We follow a lot of photography groups on Facebook in America and they’re really big on prom over there and they were doing something similar with social distancing so people don’t miss out and it was something that we wanted to do.

‘It must be heartbreaking for the teens who won’t be able to get dressed up and we don’t want them to miss out, we want them to come away with a memory of something that should have happened.

‘Doing this we’re able to help those teens, but also help those working hard in the NHS too.’

The pair from Havant launched the company in September last year and felt that their business was beginning to pick up before they had to close due to coronavirus at the end of March.

Stacey said: ‘We haven’t been able to do much at all during lockdown, except for obviously taking pictures our own kids or of different stuff while we’re out on our walks.

‘We felt like we were getting a bit of recognition before the lockdown and getting our name out there and we have struggled to keep up with that where we're not able to do anything.’

Mum-of-two Stacey, along with mum-of-two Amie usually specialise in family, newborn, maternity and body positivity photoshoots both from inside their clients home and outdoors at several scenic locations, such as fields.
