The awards recognise businesses and organisations that have shown commitment to accident and ill-health prevention.

Neville Smith, managing director at Portmouth Water, which has its head office in Havant, said: ‘It is excellent news.

‘This award is high recognition of our achievements in health and safety over many years and is a true testimony of the efforts that everyone in the company has put in to make us a safer place to work.’

Julia Small, from Portsmouth Water, said the awards ‘raise the bar’ for other organisations to aspire to.
