Home Bargains to close on Boxing Day to give staff day off

A discount retailer is set to give all of its staff Boxing Day off this year.Â

Home Bargains will be closed on December 26 as well as Christmas Day it announced. 

The chain, which has stores in Portsmouth, Waterlooville, Gosport and Park Gate, revealed the news today (November 15).

In a tweet, Home Bargains said: '˜A message to our staff and customers. 

'˜To all our staff: Thank you for your hard work this year. We will be closing all our stores on Boxing Day to give you the day off. 

'˜We hope you enjoy the Christmas holiday. 

'˜To our customers: All of our stores will be closed on Boxing Day this year to give our hardworking staff some extra time off. 

'˜They will reopen the day after Boxing Day. 

'˜Thank you for understanding.' 

Home Bargains will reopen after the Bank Holiday on December 27.
