SOUTHSEA’S Royal Beach hotel, part of the Best Western group, has become one of the most environmentally-friendly hotels in the south.

The hotel has recently switched from using mains gas as the fossil fuel for heating and hot water production, to Biomass, which will reduce the carbon footprint of the fuel used by more than 90 per cent.

A complete new boiler system to has been installed to give heat and hot water for each of the hotel’s 124 bedrooms, and it is already saving money as well as the hotel’s carbon footprint.

The hotel already has a successful green policy in place with its recycling programme.
