THOUSANDS of pounds will be spent on a hotel refurbishment in the coming weeks.

The branch of Travelodge on the eastbound A27 carriageway near Emsworth is getting £200,000 spent on it.

Emsworth manager Damian Purcell said: ‘We’re investing more than £100m on modernising our hotels for our customers and it is great news that Chichester-Emsworth Travelodge is to benefit.’

According to a spokesman from the chain, the revamp is set to ‘totally transform’ the 36-room hotel.

The revamp is part of a £100m modernisation scheme taking place nationwide.
