A DEVELOPER has submitted a bid to build homes on a pocket of land in Portsmouth that’s lain unused for years.

Radian is seeking to construct 80 homes with room for either a cafe, takeaway or offices on the former PD
Fuels site off Twyford
Avenue.

If permission is given permission, it will be a major breakthrough in the bid to redevelop the wider Tipner area.

Portsmouth’s Tory planning, regeneration and economic development boss, Councillor Luke Stubbs said: ‘It’s been 40 years since development was first proposed at Tipner, but we are now finally near the point when something is going to actually happen on the ground.

‘The broad outlines of this scheme were agreed three years ago and now Radian are coming back to confirm the details.’
