THE housing market in the south is buoyant, according to Persimmon Homes South, which has published its half-year results.
The regional managing director for the UK’s leading housebuilder has welcomed a strong performance from the company and says that demand in the region for new property remains high.
Danny O’Connor added that the company has made an excellent start to 2012 with underlying profit for the group before tax up 65 per cent on last year at £98.7m from £59.7m.
Legal house completions in the UK as a whole have been up six per cent to 4,712 from 4,439.
He said: ‘Our employees in the region have worked hard to achieve these results.’
