HUNDREDS of people flocked to a free pop-up cinema at a shopping centre, making it the best yet, according to the centre manager.

Families went to see free films at Cascades Shopping Centre in Portsmouth during its latest seven-week stint.

With favourite flicks showing every Saturday and Sunday, shoppers came in their droves to watch movies such as The Jungle Book and The Incredibles.

Centre director Rhoda Joseph said: ‘I’m thrilled that our pop-up cinema was such a hit. We really enjoy being able to put on free events for the community and a trip to the cinema on a Saturday or Sunday is a perfect way to relax and get some quality time in with the family.’

During the seven weeks, visitors were also able to donate to Naomi House & Jacksplace, a charity that provides care for more than 340 life-limited children, young people and their families.

Rhoda said: ‘We’ve raised more than £75 for the charity in just small change and I’d like to say thank you to everyone who contributed.’
