PORTSMOUTH International Port has been showcased at the world’s largest international exhibition and conference dedicated to cruising.

The port joined forces with Cruise Britain, a group that represents 16 ports in the UK, at last week’s Cruise Shipping Miami.

The organisation also promotes businesses that provide services to the cruise industry in Britain, and the range of tourist attractions visiting passengers can see.

Representatives from Cruise Britain extolled the virtues of a cruise stop to Portsmouth International Port.

Each delegate who visited the event was given a glossy brochure featuring information and photographs showing what Portsmouth has to offer.

Spinnaker Tower, the Mary Rose Museum and Historic Dockyard are among tourist attractions featured.

Rupert Taylor, harbourmaster at Portsmouth International Port, said: ‘As we start to attract a growing number of cruise ships from Europe its increasingly important we are represented at these global events.’
