International recognition for Portsmouth company
CONTRACTOR Hughes & Salvidge Ltd has won a prize at the World Demolition Awards.
The firm, based in Flathouse Road, Landport, won the Recycling & Environmental category at the eighth World Demolition Summit in Florida, beating companies from New Zealand and the USA.
The contractor, based in Portsmouth for more than 50 years, won thanks to its actions on its recent Versalis project in Hythe, for obtaining the Carbon Trust Standard for CO2 Reduction, and by conducting its bespoke Green Hands Initiative to help the environment.
