THIRTY new jobs will be created at a pub undergoing a major revamp.

The Sovereigns in Kingston Crescent, Portsmouth, closed at the beginning of the month and will reopen on December 1 as part of the Fayre & Square pub chain.

A Wacky Warehouse soft play area will be brought in for children as part of the £450,000 makeover, which is being paid for by Spirit Pub Company.

The pub will get a brighter, fresher look and there is an emphasis on making it more family-friendly.

The food menu will get a revamp, including dishes for children chosen by children, and two for £10 on selected main meals.

Adam Cheesman, general manager, said: ‘We’re hugely excited to be undergoing such a huge transformation.

‘The new menu with a range of children’s options, and the Wacky Warehouse indoor play area, will make the Sovereigns a welcoming and affordable destination for families to enjoy time together.’

Adam is looking to recruit new team players for full and part-time positions.

He said: ‘I am on the look-out for dynamic, hard-working individuals who want to be part of our family of team players at the Sovereigns.’

Spirit Pub Company owns and operates around 800 managed pubs across the UK.

Brands in its portfolio include Chef & Brewer, Fayre & Square, Flaming Grill and Taylor Walker.
