BUSINESS leaders from across the area are being encouraged to step forward and have their say on key issues in the Solent.

The Solent LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) is calling for the most driven and knowledgeable business and voluntary sector leaders in the region to join one of its panels.

A total of 15 opportunities are available on a range of panels, including Bridging the Gap Investment Panel, Business Support Investment Panel, Employment and Skills Delivery Panel and the Solent Growth Forum.

There are also opportunities on the Inward Investment Delivery Panel and the Land, Property and Infrastructure Delivery Panel.

The LEP is particularly keen to encourage applications from the commercial planning, financing and property, marine and maritime, aerospace, and financial services sectors.

As well as opportunities for the private sector, representatives of the social enterprise, voluntary and community sector are also sought to join the Employment and Skills Delivery Panel, Bridging the Gap Investment Panel and Solent Growth Forum.

Gary Jeffries, chairman of the Solent LEP, said: ‘Being a Solent LEP panel member provides a totally unique opportunity for business and voluntary sector leaders to get involved in the future of the region.

‘We are looking for driven and knowledgeable individuals to fill these roles and help us lead the Solent forward to greater economic prosperity.’
