A TWO-day public inquiry will decide the future of a village.

A government inspector will decide whether Southcott Homes Limited can build 38 homes on a field off Lovedean Lane.

The application is seen as pivotal as several fields in Lovedean are earmarked for development.

Last October councillors at East Hampshire District Council refused the application but developers appealed.

The inquiry takes place at Napier Hall, in Portsmouth Road, Horndean from February 24. Proceedings start at 10am.
