With just 10 days to go until the start of the huge summer music spectacle, organisers have released pictures of how the event site is coming along.

The Victorious main stage is under construction, and other features, including an impressive Victorious sign near Castle Field, are already up.

Organisers say there’s a buzz in the city ahead of the occasion, when globally-renowned artists including Noel Gallagher, Manic Street Preachers and DJ Mark Ronson will perform.

New to this year’s August Bank Holiday bonanza is a World Music Village, courtesy of Arms Around The Child, an international charity based in Portsmouth.

The village will include a headline DJ set from Neneh Cherry, the Grammy-nominated Swedish born singer-songwriter and DJ, as well as Natty, Liam Bailey, Eva Lazarus, and Josh Osho.

The area will also showcase different styles of dance throughout the day from a Bhangra Party to Bollywood dancers to Latin dance workshops. The World Music Village will also host the People’s Lounge for those who want to chill, hang out and experience something new. Tickets are selling fast, and organisers hope the event will be a sell-out and attract 120,000 spectators over the weekend.
