HMS Manchester will sail into Liverpool and parade in Manchester for the final time this week before she is decommissioned from the Royal Navy.
The Portsmouth-based warship will dock in Liverpool on Thursday.
The following day the ship will host a reception and capability demonstration on board in Liverpool for invited civic dignitaries.
The ship’s company will then travel to their affiliated city of Manchester to exercise their Freedom of the City for the last time on Saturday.
The Type 42 destroyer, which was commissioned in 1982, has enjoyed a long and illustrious career.
She will be decommissioned in Portsmouth on February 24 as planned.
