Law firm's niche commercial services recognised in guide

A VARIETY of niche commercial services has been recognised in the 29th edition of one of the most prestigious independent legal guides, The Legal 500.

Portsmouth legal firm Verisona Law’s award-winning Insolvency and Business Turnaround department was featured as one of the go-to places for corporate recovery and insolvency advice.

The team that supported the saving of Portsmouth Football Club was also recognised for its work in sports law, and expertise in marine law also won acclaim in the guide’s transport section for shipping.

Over 250,000 organisations were surveyed and interviewed globally by The Legal 500 series, focusing on the strength and depth of legal teams.

‘This is a particularly exciting result for Insolvency and Business Turnaround,’ said director Nick Oliver.

‘We’ve been mentioned in the guide for the past few years, but this time, mainly as a result of client feedback, we have moved right up the rankings and are now recognised as one of the top teams nationally.

‘We’ve achieved some high-profile successes in the past 12 months, expanded considerably and were able to put forward an impressive client list for scrutiny and interview, so we are all really proud of this result.’

Also recognised in The Legal 500, was director Tim Reynolds for his work advising international clients on yacht and marine issues.

‘We are delighted to have received more coverage in The Legal 500 than ever before,’ said Mike Dyer, chairman and head of business law.

‘It is a sign of the increasing success and influence of our commercial services that has resulted from a lot of hard work.’
