Lidl submits plans to turn closed garage in Gosport into car park
PLANS have been submitted to turn a former petrol station into a supermarket car park.
Lidl has put in the application to Gosport Borough Council to extend a car park for the store, in Forton Road.
As previously reported in The News, the BP Garage next to Lidl closed last May in a move which nearby residents called a ‘blow to the community.’ As well as petrol, it had a 24-hour shop.
The planning application will go before the council’s regulatory board, where a decision will be made.
