M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week between junctions 2 and 4a with narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 4a including the M25 junction 12 entry slip to the M3 southbound and M25 junction 12 anti-clockwise link road to the M3 southbound including junctions 2, 3 and 4 entry slips and junctions 3, 4 and 4a exit slips will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am on Monday 24 April for four nights and between 8pm and 7am on Friday 28 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via:

M3 southbound junction 2 to M25 junction 13 via A30 to A327 to M3 junction 4a

M25 clockwise junction 13 via A30 to A327 to M3 junction 4a

M25 anti clockwise junction 13 via A30 to A327 to M3 junction 4a

The northbound carriageway between junction 4a and 2 including junction 4a, 4 and 3 entry slips, junction 3 exit slip and the M3 junction 2 slip road to the M25 clockwise and M3 junction 2link road to M25 anti-clockwise will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am on Monday 24 April for four nights and between 8pm and 7am on Friday 28 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via: M3 junction 4a to A327 to A30 to M25 junction 13 to M3 junction 2 northbound.

M3 junction 8 Popham, Hampshire: bridge strengthening

Work to maintain journeys by replacing bridge bearings and supports continues this week. Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed restriction are in place on the link from the M3 southbound to the A303 westbound 24/7 until May.

The M3 southbound carriageway will be closed from junction 7 (Dummer) to junction 9 (Winchester) overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 24, Tuesday 25 and Thursday 27 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A303 and A34. Access to Winchester Service Area (Moto) will be unavailable during these closures.

M3 junction 12 Chandlers Ford, Hampshire: street lighting

Work to maintain safety by carrying out street lighting maintenance at the junction finishes this week. The northbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Friday 28 April. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the adjacent junctions.

M3 junction 14 Chilworth, Hampshire: surveys and drainage

Work to improve journeys by carrying out surveys and drainage maintenance takes place this week. The southbound link from the M3 to the M27 eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 24 April for 4 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M27 junction 3 and return.

In addition, lane closures will be in place on the northbound link from the Chilworth roundabout to junction 13 overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Tuesday 25 April.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: bridge reconstruction

Work to improve journeys by refurbishing the bridge that carries the link roads over the M4 continues this week. Narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit are in place on the slip roads and a 50mph speed limit is in place on the M4 carriageway until November 2017.

The eastbound exit slip road at junction 10 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 24 April for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 8/9 and return.

M4 junctions 12 Theale to 13 Chieveley, West Berkshire: bridge refurbishment

Work to improve journeys by refurbishing the bridges that carry the M4 over Dark Lane and Ashampstead Road continues this week. Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will be in place on the east and westbound carriageways until August.

M27 junction 1 Cadnam, Hampshire: signage

Work to keep road users informed by repairing at damaged sign at the junction takes place this week. The eastbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Wednesday 26 April for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A31 Romsey Road and A36, joining the M27 at junction 2.

M27 junctions 5 to 4 Eastleigh, Hampshire: surveys and drainage

Work to improve journeys by carrying out surveys and drainage maintenance takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on the westbound carriageway and exit slip road leading to the M3 northbound carriageway overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Tuesday 25 April.

M27 junction 8 Bursledon to 7 Hedge End, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the westbound carriageway takes place this week. The westbound entry slip road at junction 8, lane 1 of the westbound carriageway and the westbound exit slip road at junction 7 will all be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 27 April. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junction 9 for the closure of the slip at junction 8 and via junction 5 for the closure of the slip at junction 7.

M27 junction 10 Wickham, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the motorway at junction 10 takes place this week. The eastbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 28 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Wickham Road, Wallington Way and the A27.

A3 Guildford, Surrey: surveys

Work to maintain journeys by carrying out surveys of the carriageway along the A3 takes place this week. Lane 1 of the A3 southbound carriageway from the Stoke Interchange to the Hogs Back will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 28 April. Access to the A3 from Manorway and Wildness Road will be prohibited during this lane closure.

A3 Hogs Back to Shackleford, Surrey: safety barrier

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the safety barrier along the A3 continues this week. Lane two of the north and southbound carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Wednesday 10 May (Monday to Friday only).

A3 Milford, Surrey: resurfacing

Work to improve road user’s journeys by resurfacing the northbound entry slip road at the junction takes place this week. The northbound exit and entry slip roads at the junction, the north side of the roundabout and The Drive (where it meets the northbound slip road) will all be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 24 April for 2 nights.

During the closures clearly signed diversions will be in place via the adjacent junctions and traffic wanting to join the A3 from The Drive will have to use Elstead Road to join the A3 at the Shackleford Interchange.

A3 Hindhead Tunnel, Surrey: maintenance

Work to maintain journeys by carrying out tunnel maintenance takes place this week. The northbound tunnel will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 24 April for 4 nights. Traffic will be diverted through the southbound tunnel in contraflow under a 40mph speed limit.

A27 Langstone, Hampshire: signage

Work to keep road users informed by repairing at damaged sign at the A3023 junction takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on the A27 westbound carriageway and westbound entry slip road overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 24 April.

A31 Sturminster Marshall to Bere Regis, Dorset: surveys

Work to maintain journeys by carrying out surveys of the carriageway along the A31 takes place this week. The A31 east and westbound carriageways between the A350 Roundhouse Roundabout and the A34 Bere Regis junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 28 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A350 and A35.

A34 Tufton Warren (Whitchurch), Hampshire: gap closure

Work to improve safety by closing the crossing gap in the central reserve of the A34 at Tufton Warren/Firgo Farm finishes this week. The A34 northbound carriageway from the A303 (Bullington Cross) to the A343 (Highclere) will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Tuesday 25 April. The A34 north and southbound carriageways between the A303 (Bullington Cross) and the A343 (Highclere) will then be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Wednesday 26 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A303, Andover and the A343.

In addition, lane two of the north and southbound carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 28 April.

A34 Sunningwell to Bagley, Oxfordshire: resurfacing

Work to improve road user’s journeys by resurfacing a section of the A34 carriageway finishes this week. The A34 northbound carriageway will be closed from the A4130 Milton Interchange to the Hinksey Hill junction overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Tuesday 25 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4130, A417, A338 and A420.

A34 Oxford, Oxfordshire: resurfacing and drainage surveys

Work to improve road user’s journeys by resurfacing a section of the A34 northbound carriageway and maintaining the drainage at the Botley Interchange takes place this week. The A34 northbound carriageway from the A423 Hinksey Hill Interchange to Wytham village will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 28 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Oxford ring-road (A4142 Eastern-by-Pass, A40 Northern-by-Pass and A44).

A34 Wendlebury to Oxford, Oxfordshire: road markings and resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the A34 and resurfacing the southbound carriageway near Kidlington takes place this week. The A34 southbound carriageway from the M40 to the A44 Peartree Interchange will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 24 April for 4 nights.

During the closures clearly signed diversions will be in place suitable for motorway permitted vehicles (east on the A40, north on the M40 to junction 9) and non-motorway vehicles (via the A44, A4095 through Kirtlington towards Bicester, Vendee Drive and A41).

A404 Marlow to High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance along the A404 finishes this week. Lane closures will be in place on the north and southbound carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Tuesday 25 April.

A404 Bisham to Burchetts Green, Berkshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance along the A404 takes place this week. Lane 1 of the southbound carriageway and the southbound exit and entry slip roads at the A4130 Burchetts Green junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 24 April. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the adjacent junction.
