M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: Smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day.

The M3 junction 2 southbound link road to M25 junction 12 clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Monday 5 December and Thursday 8 December and between 8pm and 7am on Friday 9 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the anti-clockwise M25 and return.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 2 including junctions 4 and 3 entry slip roads, junction 3 exit slip road and junction 2 northbound clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 5 December for 4 nights and between 8pm and 7am on Friday 9 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A331, A30 and M25.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 4 including the M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads to the M3 southbound, junction 3 entry slip road and junctions 3 and 4 exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 5 December for 4 nights and between 8pm and 7am on Friday 9 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25, A30 and A331.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 2 including junction 3 entry slip road and the clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads from the M3 junction 2 northbound to M25 junction 12 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 7am, on Saturday 10 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322, A30 and M25.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4 including junction 3 entry slip road and junction 4 exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 7am, on Saturday 10 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322, A30 and A331.

M3 junction 6 Basingstoke, Hampshire: drainage survey and barrier repair

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage surveys around junction 6 and the Black Dam roundabout starts this week. Lane closures will be in place on all approaches to junction 6 and the Black Dam roundabout overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 6 December for 9 nights (Monday to Friday only).

In addition, a lane closure will be in place on the M3 southbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 5 December for 2 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junction 6 Windsor, Berkshire: drainage

Work to improve journeys by carrying out drainage maintenance at the junction takes place this week. The eastbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 6 December for 2 nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the adjacent junctions.

M4 junctions 7 to 8/9 Maidenhead, Berkshire: street lighting

Work to maintain road user safety by replacing damaged parts on selected lighting columns takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 5 December for 5 nights.

M4 junction 8/9 Maidenhead, Berkshire: drainage

Work to improve journeys by carrying out drainage maintenance at the junction finishes this week. The westbound exit and entry slip roads at the junction and one lane on the roundabout will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 5 December for 5 nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the adjacent junctions.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: bridge reconstruction

Work to refurbish the bridge which carries the link roads over the M4 continues this week. Narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit are in place on the slip roads and a 50mph speed limit is in place on the M4 carriageway until November 2017.

M4 junctions 11 to 12 Reading, Berkshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of both carriageways near Pingewood continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Tuesday 6 December for 3 nights.

In addition, the westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 9 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A33 and A4. Lane closures will be in place on the eastbound carriageway during this period.

Access to Moto Reading Service Area may be unavailable during these closures. The nearest service area is off the M4 at junction 13 (Chieveley).

M4 junctions 13 to 12 Chieveley to Theale, Berkshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the eastbound carriageway near Frilsham continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on the eastbound carriageway overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Tuesday 6 December for 3 nights.

In addition, the eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 9 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4.

M27 junction 2 Ower, Hampshire: bridge survey

Work to improve journeys by carrying out structural surveys takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on the roundabout and all approaches to the junction overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 5 December for 5 nights.

M27 junction 3 Southampton, Hampshire: street lighting

Work to maintain road user safety by replacing damaged parts on selected lighting columns takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways of the M27, on the M271 and the junction 3 roundabout overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 6 December.

M27 junction 5 Eastleigh, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the eastbound carriageway across junction 5 starts this week. The eastbound exit and entry slip roads and lanes 1 and 2 of the eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 5 December for 5 nights.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place via adjacent junctions.

M27 junction 8 Bursledon, Hampshire: drainage survey and street lighting

Work to maintain road user safety by replacing damaged parts on selected lighting columns and undertake drainage surveys takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on all approaches to junction 8 and on the roundabout overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 5 December for 5 nights.

M27 junctions 9 to 11 Whiteley to Fareham, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the westbound carriageway continues this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed between junction 11 (Fareham) and junction 9 (Whiteley) overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 5 December for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A27.

A3 Hogs Back (A31), Surrey: bridge repair

Work to maintain journeys by undertaking bridge maintenance takes place this week. The southbound link road from the A3 to the A31 Hogs Back will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 8 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B3000.

A27 Havant, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a damaged section of the westbound carriageway takes place this week. The westbound carriageway between the Warblington and Langstone junctions will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 7 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Havant.

A31 Sturminster Marshall, Dorset: drainage survey

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage surveys at the A350 Roundhouse Roundabout takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on the roundabout overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 6 December for 2 nights.

A34 Abingdon, Oxfordshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the northbound carriageway continues this week. The A34 northbound carriageway will be closed from the A4130 Milton Interchange to a point north of Abingdon overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Thursday 8 December for 2 nights.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place along the A417 through Wantage then north on the A338 and A420.

A303 Andover, Hampshire: drainage survey

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage surveys at the A343 Salisbury Road junction takes place this week. The eastbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 6 December. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the adjacent junctions.
