THE manager of the Gosport Basepoint Business Centre has passed his training to become an enterprise mentor.

It means that Andrew Weston can help Job Centre Plus users start a new business.

The role is voluntary under the government’s New Enterprise Allowance Scheme, and allows people like Andrew to give eight weeks of support to fledgling firms and help them draw up business plans.

After that, Andrew will put his charges forward to Enterprise First, a non-profit Enterprise Agency, where they can apply for funding and commence trading.

He said: ‘I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the enterprise training and it has enabled me to appreciate and pass on my skills to others.’
