AFTER years of hard work a managing director has been recognised for his success.
The AMSI Council held its annual awards where Dan Hook from ASV Limited, Portchester was given the accolade of Business Person of the Year.
It was presented to him by the chairman of the AMSI Council of the Society of Maritime Industries Richard Burt at the Ocean Business Gala Dinner.
Mr Burt said: ‘This award is designed to recognise the individual who in the opinion of the adjudicating panel has made a significant contribution to the business of marine science and technology in the UK.
‘Dan’s enthusiasm, technical foresight and entrepreneurial skills mark him out as superb ambassador for the industry and the AMSI Council is convinced Dan is a worthy recipient of the AMSI Council Business Person of the Year Award.’
Dan was nominated by his colleagues for his work to lead AVS Limited to the position of prime UK designer and manufacturer of autonomous surface vehicles, and his foresight in seeing the potential of unmanned water crafts.
