Captec has developed specialist computers for over 30 years and was started by University of Southampton alumnus Max Toti.

Mr Toti said: ‘We are immensely proud and honoured to have won a Queen’s Award reflecting the growing hi-tech influence of the south coast. This is down to the hard work and dedication of the entire workforce in creating specialist computing platforms.

‘It is also a testament to the growing talent hot spots created by the south’s universities that we rely on.’

Captec, which has more than 100 employees, saw substantial economic growth and strong export figures between 2012 and 2014. It was listed in the Sunday Times Profit Track 100.
