Marina marks 25 years by raising glass at show

A QUARTER of a century in business is being celebrated by a marina this week.Â

The Dean & Reddyhoff team will be raising a glass to toast 25 years of the first Dean & Reddyhoff marina '“ Haslar Marina '“ at the Southampton Boat Show.   John Dean and Richard Reddyhoff had a huge task in building Haslar Marina - reclaiming land, dredging the creek, building the wave break and refitting the Mary Mouse Lightship.

In 1993, Haslar Marina welcomed the first berth holder, Dick Pinhey with '˜Corsair of Barbary.'

Ben Lippiett, marina manager, said: '˜We are looking forward to celebrating Haslar Marina's history and swapping stories and memories.

'˜A quarter of a century later, it's fantastic that 22 of the original berth holders are part of the Haslar Marina family.

'˜We've created a photo album at Haslar Marina, so if you've got photos and boating tales to share then do please pop along and see us at the boat show.

'˜We look forward to celebrating the next 25 years.'

Southampton Boat Show runs every day until September 23.
