The idea is to provide a calm and stress-free shopping experience for parents and prospective parents.

The opening comes as M&S will also be unveiling its new superstore to the public nearby.

Mark Newton-Jones, chief executive of Mothercare, said: ‘I am delighted we are opening our first redesigned store here in Havant.

‘This a pivotal moment for us, as we turn Mothercare into a state-of-the-art, digitally-led business supported by fabulous stores.

‘Our larger format stores will house a greater range of new and improved products offering customers more choice and an enhanced shopping experience with digital screens, cafes and play areas for their children.’

Earlier this week The News got an exclusive look inside the new M&S store.

The 50,000 square feet shop is built over two floors and has many different departments including women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, and food.

The store has created 120 jobs.

This comes after an increase in jobs when Next opened its new store at the site in April.
