MP hopes funding boost will help jobs

A GOVERNMENT funding boost for businesses could help Gosport’s poor job density – or so it is hoped.

The British Business Bank has received £200m in government funding to help small businesses across the country expand and prosper.

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage is optimistic that some of this money will make its way to the Gosport peninsula, supporting entrepreneurs in the town.

She said: ‘This is great news for businesses.

‘Gosport has one of the lowest job densities in England – 0.5 jobs per person – and I sincerely hope that this funding will be able to help local entrepreneurs and businesses expand.

‘It is vital that we support growing businesses that ultimately boost our economy and employment.’

British Business Bank CEO, Keith Morgan, added: ‘We look forward to putting the funding to good use through our delivery partners to enable such businesses to get the funding they need to grow and prosper.’
