SWIMMING will soon be coming to the site of a former hospital as plans for a multi-million pound leisure centre have been given the green light.

The swimming pool at the Coldeast site in Sarisbury was granted outline planning permission by Fareham Borough Council’s planning team.

As reported, once finished the £7m leisure complex will have a 25m pool, gym, fitness studios and a viewing area.

It will be funded from the council’s reserves and through borrowing.

Work is expected to start on the site within the next 18 months.
