New business aims to spread a little sunshine

WHEN Dee Bushrod couldn't find an inspiring and uplifting gift box to send to her ill friend, she did what any friend would do: she started a gift box business, where gifts are specifically selected and packaged to fit through a letterbox.

Dee, from Fareham, said: ‘When a close friend went through a life changing diagnosis, I got to see first-hand how people were desperate to show their love and support and she started getting sent flowers. ‘Although they were beautiful and the thinking behind each bunch of flowers was one of absolute love – getting flowers meant that she had to ‘do’ something - to answer the door, to unwrap the bouquet, to find a vase, or when the vases ran out, to find a big enough glass!

‘Resting and recuperating were interrupted at a time when her body needed to rest and heal.

‘That is where the idea of the ‘letterbox sized’ gift boxes came from.’
